Q: Why do you have reserved
seating at the Egyptian?
A: With reserved
seating, the guest knows that the theatre will not be
over-sold, that the seat they choose is one that they want
and not what is left over then they arrive at theatre.
Q: Are there Chinese tunnels
under the Egyptian?
A: This is an urban legend
that has been around for years. The tunnels referred to
mostly disappeared in the mid-70's when Main Street was
resurfaced and the trolley track taken out. At one time (an
old Chinese man told me) the tunnels ran to Fairview &
Curtis to the west and to Barber Park to the east. As to the
tunnels under the theatre?
Q: Why don't the Egyptian show
more silent movies?
A: We try to show at least 2
silent movies per year. They are extremely expensive to
obtain and produce and as of lately, not well attended.
Hopefully this will change and we can do more.
